How to become a Help! Save Stan Facilitator
Who can be a Help Save Stan event facilitator?
What kind of training is needed?
The prerequisite to facilitating at Help Save Stan is the completion of one hour training video and attendance of one hour Training dry-run of the event on March 16 from 5 - 6 pm. Both are free of charge. Upon completing your registration, you will be sent an email with full event details. Do event facilitators have assistance at Help! Save Stan?
Each scenario has assigned two facilitators to work together in facilitating a scenario. We do our best to pair novice facilitators with experienced facilitators to support best experiences for all participants. Given the nature of the scenario topics, a mental health support team will be standing by to assist students that may need additional support during the event.
- Health sciences faculty members, instructors, clinical educators and practitioner clinicians
- Those working in human services such as social work and counselling
- Community services workers including police and rescue professionals
- Senior students currently in leadership/preceptorship courses accompanied by their preceptor who also facilitates

Before Event Day
All facilitators are required to watch a 1 hour training video an online Student Interprofessional Learning Module. It will be important for you to be familiar with the learning objectives and foundational content of Interprofessional Education (IPE). To learn about facilitator and student past experiences of Save Stan, go to Digital Stories located in the Student Participants menu. '

Virtual HSS Event Day Information
HSS Simulations
Simulations are focused on interprofessional teamwork and mental health. All simulations feature standardized actors as patients/family. On event day, you will provide orientation, student briefing and debriefing the day with coaching from your assigned Simulation Coordinator.
Wrap Up
At the end of the event, all students and facilitators meet for a final 30-minute wrap-up. The event ends at 8:30 PM.

Virtual HSS Event Day Information
- Please make sure you arrive on time.
- The Event link will open at 6 PM, with opening remarks beginning at 6:30 pm.
- Log in to the Hop In Conference Event site 15 minutes before the event begins. Follow the email instructions you will receive after registering from your assigned Simulation Coordinator shortly after registering.
