Who is Stan?
The name Stan represents all persons featured in Help! Save Stan simulation scenarios.
How do I Save Stan?
Stan, in all HSS virtual events, is a standardized patient: professional actors hired and trained to play specific roles within a simulated event. HELP! Save Stan is not focused on treatment or technical skills but is a safe, supportive, interactive learning environment to practice your interdisciplinary collaboration and communication skills.

HELP! Save Stan is an opportunity to learn with students from varied healthcare programs from NAIT, NorQuest College, and The University of Alberta. Students consistently report that they find HELP! Who will facilitate the learning experience?
You will learn in a safe, realistic environment; and gain valuable feedback from facilitators who are health team members and/or educators in the health professions.
How will I prepare for the event?
For best learning outcomes, all facilitators and students must prepare in advance by completing an online eLearning module.
