About IHEP
The Interdisciplinary Health Education Partnership (IHEP) project is a joint initiative between Alberta Health Services, MacEwan University, NAIT, NorQuest College, and the University of Alberta.
The purpose of the Interdisciplinary Health Education Partnership (IHEP) is to develop and assess standardized interdisciplinary learning modules using simulation platforms. IHEP has designed and implemented a series of interdisciplinary health team simulations using Standardized Patients, High Fidelity Mannequins, and Virtual World technology.
The partnership has also created Faculty Development training opportunities in designing and debriefing health team simulations. After participating in the training, instructors from each of the institutions facilitate and design health team simulations within the project. Students are recruited from each institution to participate in the health team simulations. The simulations are evaluated to assess the team competencies learned by the students.
